On November 6, 2013, the Madden School held its second annual “Meet Your Mentor” event. The Madden School’s Mentor Program promises all students that upon their reaching their junior year, they will be assigned a mentor who will stay with them through graduation and beyond.
Over 100 individuals representing alum and non-alum business leaders have signed on to be mentors. One mentor is Scott Milnamow ’88, senior vice president of real estate at Raymour & Flanigan, who is serving as a mentor for Kyung Hwang, a junior from South Korea majoring in business management and leadership. “I have supported the college since I graduated in any way I could, believing I owe part of my success in real estate to Le Moyne College,” said Milnamow. “My real estate career started through the internship program at Le Moyne when Wally Elmer placed me for the summer at Pyramid Companies in 1987. I’m excited to be part of this year’s mentoring program.”
This week’s event to bring together Madden Mentors with the juniors they have been paired with was a resounding success with over 150 people in attendance. One of our mentors even flew in from New York City to meet his mentee!
We are grateful for the generosity of our Madden Mentors in the giving of their time, energy and resources to help our students. The success of this program and more importantly, our students’ success will not be possible without their valuable contributions.
